Summary
This project aims at the development and empirical evaluation of preventive and therapeutic interventions for professionals who have higher risks for exposure to traumatic events. This intervention consists of (1) improving the activation of the traumatic memory or mental representation with Virtual Reality (VR) exposure and (2) supporting systematic desensitization with bio-neuro feedback. Individual responses to this activation will be measured for personalized adaptation of the exposure and feedback generation. The aim of the VR approach is to help professionals to develop less destructive cognitive and emotional reactions in stressful situations.
