Even neighbourhoods with higher-educated ethnic minorities arouse resistance
The resistance towards ethnically mixed neighbourhoods decreases if higher-educated people from ethnic minorities live there. Yet even then a large proportion of the autochthonous Dutch population still prefer to avoid neighbourhoods with a high concentration of people from ethnic minorities. Read more

A good social foundation is vital for economic growth in the Netherlands. Research in the Top sectors is therefore inconceivable without a clear contribution from the social sciences and the humanities. Read more
Migration, Development and Conflict
On 20 December NWO-WOTRO and the NWO Division Of Social Sciences launched a joint call for proposals for the new research programme Migration, Development and Conflict. Read more
Changes to the NWO Talent line
The Governing Board of NWO has decided to make several changes to the Talent line. These will enable NWO to use the resources for the Talent programmes in a more effective and efficient manner. Read more
