Welcome - De Mayerne
The NWO divisions
Humanities, Physical Sciences and Chemical Sciences, some research institutes
like AMOLF and some museums like the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam and the Van Gogh
museum are participating in the multi-disciplinary research programme De
Mayerne. Even the Tate Gallery from London and the ETH from Zurich are
participating in the programme.
Key points of the De Mayerne programme
are:
· The
establishment of a strong multidisciplinary central research programme about
technical studies in art history and molecular conservation studies of art
objects in the Netherlands;
· The enlargement
of perception in the way of working of painters, in the process of obsolescence
of art objects and the influences of conservation activities- which is very
important for the maintenance of our cultural heritage;
· The promotion
and reinforcement of the cooperation between de physical sciences and the art
(historical) sciences.
On this website you will find general
information about the programme and information about the results of the
research, which is financed by NWO.
Under Background you will find
information about the programme and the programme committee. Under News, you will find news and
symposia and under Current
