Together with 16 other European organisations, the board of the NWO Division for Chemical Sciences participates in the Centre Européen de Calcul Atomique et Moléculaire (CECAM) in Lausanne, Switzerland. CECAM covers the whole field of atomic and molecular calculations, from the study of free atoms and molecules to research on condensed matter, plasmas, materials and biomolecules.
CECAM stimulates these fields mainly by organising international workshops. Each year around 25-30 workshops are organised. Apart from that CECAM has a modest research programme, often in collaboration with other organisations, and a visitors programme. This last programme allows postdocs and PhD students to work at the institute for a period of between one and three years. Experienced researchers too can stay there for periods of between a couple of days and one year (on invitation).
Who can apply
Researchers at universities, NWO and KNAW institutes in the field of Computational Science.
What can be applied for
Participation in international workshops, tutorials and visitors programmes.
When can be applied
