Objective

Subsidy form designed to promote international comparative research into the themes of the Social Cohesion programme, by exchange of results and collaboration of researchers.

Application

Who can apply

Staff (postdoctorals) carrying out research subsidised by the Socail Cohesion programme, with a maximum of one researcher per project.

What can be applied for

Subsidy for travel and accommodation expenses of research staff or their foreign guests up to a maximum of 3,000 euro per application. Stays must not exceed three months. This is on condition that the costs are not refundable from the researcher's materials budget or other funds (inside or outside NWO).

When can be applied

From 1 October 2003 until 1 October 2004 the programme is continuously open for applications, which must be submitted at least two months before departure. The actual visit will occur between 1 December 2003 and 1 March 2005. In the case of a visit by a foreign colleague the Dutch host(ess) must take care of the application.

The Social Cohesion Travel Fund is part of the Socail Cohesion programme, which consists of two component programmes: the Dutch Multicultural and Pluriform Society (MPS) and Social Participation, Commitment and Bonding (PBB). Both are registered separately in the Subsidy guide.

Selection

Criteria

The visit must provide a demonstrable contribution to the international SOcial Cohesion research. Applications must be approved by the programme supervisor and contain a declaration of consent from the foreign organisation. The visit must result in a joint scientific publication or an approved paper in the case of a visit to a foreign conference or symposium. Applications for a working visit must be accompanied by a work scheme.

Procedure

Applications are dealt with in the order in which they come in. There is no ranking according to content. They are awarded in chronological order, provided they fulfil the preconditions. Should at any moment the budget becom exhausted, this will be made known on this page. Decisions on an application take six weeks on average.
