ESFRI Projects National Funding

Line of action : Consolidating strengths
Secretariat : NWO
Participants : AgentschapNL
Apply : No, the subsidy is closed for applications

Objective

The Minister of Education, Culture and Science has asked NWO and SenterNovem to advise on the awarding of funds to the (first set of) 8 proposals selected from the 35 ESFRI proposals by the Van Velzen Committee; those will be submitted on behalf of the Netherlands to ESFRI. Not all of the proposals can be funded throughout the entire funding period. The final available budget has yet to be confirmed but will be in the order of several tens of millions of euros.

As the specific Dutch commitment cannot be clearly deduced from the European proposals, NWO and SenterNovem are now asking the 8 consortia (their respective official secretaries) to formulate a detailed application that will be submitted to a panel of international referees for assessment and subsequently prioritised by a prioritisation committee to be appointed by NWO and SenterNovem.
