Letter from the Minister for Education to the universities

Measuring and revealing the social impact of scientific research is an important theme in research and science policy. Recently COS, KNAW, NWO, VSNU and QANU have taken the initiative to encourage awareness of the social impact of scientific research and the development of methodologies in this area.

On 1 February 2007, Maria van der Hoeven, Minister of Education, Culture and Science wrote a letter [in Dutch] about this to the executive boards of the universities and the chairs of the Governing Boards of NWO and KNAW.
