Objective
The programme Mathematical Physics aims to stimulate communication between
mathematicians and theoretical physicists, especially regarding research that
is fundamental and innovative for both disciplines.
Application
Researchers in the fields of mathematics and (theoretical) physics who are affiliated with a Dutch university or an institute recognised by NWO.
What can be applied for
Applications can no longer be submitted.
When can be applied
Applications can no longer be submitted; the final subsidy round has already closed. The programme runs from 1999 to 2006.
Extra Information
There are six priority research topics:
- quantum field theory and string theory;
- statistical mechanics, phase transitions;
- renormalisation theory and ergodic theory;
- the classical and non-commutative calculus of probability;
- dynamic systems, chaos and applications;
- non-periodic systems, liquid dynamics and solitons.
