Investment Subsidy NWO Large

The aim of the programme Investment Subsidy NWO Large is to stimulate investments in innovative scientific equipment or data collections of national or international importance.

Who can apply

The following knowledge institutions may submit proposals:

• a. Dutch universities;
• b. NWO institutes (incl. the Dutch-Belgian Beamline at ESRF in Grenoble);
• c. KNAW institutes;
• d. academic libraries;
• e. Netherlands Cancer Institute;
• f. Max Planck Institute for psycholinguistics in Nijmegen.

Other institutes may only participate in proposals from the above-named institutes.

What can be applied for

Investment Subsidy NWO Large is meant for the purchase of equipment and for the setting up, linking and enriching of data collections.

The NWO contribution is at least € 1,500,000 for all scientific fields with the exception of the arts, social sciences and humanities for which a lower limit of € 1,000,000 applies.

When can be applied

• Closing date for submitting applications was 1 November 2011, 17:00 hrs

Criteria

Scientific quality, social and national relevance, financial and technical criteria.

Procedure

Scientific quality, social and national relevance, financial and technical criteria. The advisory committee confers with the Divisional Boards and visits applicants who may have a good chance of receiving a grant. Candidates can elucidate their application by replying to comments.

Budget

Approximately 20 million euro.
