Applied Chemistry

The NWO Division for Chemical Sciences (supervisor) cooperates with the Technology Foundation STW (sponsor) in the programme Chemistry in Application in order to promote application-oriented (bio)chemical and chemical-technological research. This programme’s research is scientifically outstanding and there are great opportunities for application. In the long term it leads to contracts with companies, patents and research results that benefit businesses. To encourage this each project is supervised by a user committee consisting of research from the business world.

New applications can no longer be submitted.

Chemistry in Application becomes part of OTP

From 1 September 2005 the programme Chemistry in Application, which is being executed by the NWO Division for Chemical Sciences (CW), will be incorporated in the Open Technology Programme (OTP) of the Technology Foundation STW. Chemistry in Application was a cooperative project of CW and STW, with STW acting as sponsor and CW as supervisor. The programme closely resembles STW’s OTP and practical considerations have led CW and STW to make it part of OTP.

Project applications for OTP can be submitted throughout the year. Guidelines for submitting an OTP proposal can be found at www.stw.nl/stw/richtlijnen.
